Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara review

Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara

So, do you have a mascara you absolutely love, or are you still searching for The One?

For the past month, I’ve been previewing the just-launched Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Mascara (£22), which comes in a glam red and black tube and promises “dramatic volume, length and lift”.

What’s funny is, I’m not a big mascara person. I never used to wear it at all – it somehow always looked too much, I kept smudging it (hopeless!) – but I’m doing so more now.

I find a little extra definition helps me look more awake these days!

Whilst the name suggests something totally full-on, I found that a single coat of this provides a great lift and glossy, natural-looking definition. Then you can build on that, depending on how dramatic you want to go.

As ever, it’s all the wand: in this case, extra fine with a hi-tech mix of bristles with ‘push-up tips’  and wedge-shaped discs designed to create a lush lash effect! There’s this whole routine you can follow (“cradle to volumise, flip to lift and push up to lengthen”). Honestly? I just applied it in the usual way, with fine results.

What impressed me the most is the natural and lasting lift factor, which stayed put for hours, whereas it usually disappears, I find, within no time at all.
